Malaysian Travel
Hi, fellow Travellers. A trip to Malaysia should be on many people’s bucket lists.
Believe it or not, Malaysia was not on our ‘to visit’ list. We had purchased a Holiday timeshare; we wanted to go somewhere, and the only place available on short notice was a property in Cherating, which is close to Kuantan.
Being adventurous and wanting to try somewhere different, we signed up.
If you look at a map of Malaysia, if you go directly right from Kuala Lumpur, to the other coast, you will see where we stayed the first time.
Our first trip to Malaysia was fantastic and we fell in love with the place. The local people are great very friendly and want to help. The cost of food as well as the different varieties of food is mouth-watering. You can eat the street food, unlike other countries. (you still have to be a little careful!) The countryside is beautiful and lush, and the beaches are magnificent.
There is also a lot of history that will immerse you in the culture.
We will also ask you to consider taking a trip to Sarawak, a separate island from the central Island of Malaysia, just to see the Orangutans. During our trip there, at the Orangutan enclosure, a Keeper and a huge male walked past less than a metre away from us. All we could do was stop and admire this impressive animal.
So, let’s go back to why we are doing this. We are 2 travelling Kiwis in our 50’s, who live in Australia. We love to travel, yet there is not a lot of information to help the older more adventurous traveller or not so daring and would like to find out different out of the ways to enjoy a locations local culture. These Travellers do not want to stick to the already well-trodden tourist path, but know there is a far better way to travel.
Our blog will give you insights, a real taste of the local area, while still being safe. It will include local highlights, such as what to visit, out-of-the way local towns and villages, the fabulous beach, and every way to get from A to B.
So join us and others for this travel experience.
